Rockland & Area Tree Services & Yardworks
Gallant Tree Services & Yardworks is a family owned business specializing in the care and maintenance of trees and hedges. We love all things green and want to see them thrive.
Helping your trees stay safer, healthier and better suited to your property
Trees bring shade, character and long-term value to a property—but they also need informed care. Poor structure, storm damage, crowding, disease and conflicts with buildings or access areas can turn a valuable tree into an ongoing concern.
Gallant Tree Services & Yardworks is a family-owned company serving Rockland, Orleans, Ottawa East and surrounding Eastern Ontario communities. Led by owner and arborist Jean-Christophe “JC” Gallant, our team provides practical recommendations and careful work for trees, hedges and the properties around them.

Not every change means a tree must come down. A professional assessment can help separate routine maintenance from concerns that require action.
Dead or Broken Limbs
Large deadwood, hanging branches or fresh storm damage can create concerns over homes, yards, parking and walkways.
Cracks or Weak Unions
Visible splits, included bark or multiple heavy stems may warrant closer evaluation and possible support or pruning.
Decline or Unusual Growth
Thinning foliage, dieback, cavities, fungal growth or rapid changes can signal stress that deserves investigation.
Property Conflicts
Branches interfering with roofs, access, visibility or nearby structures may benefit from selective pruning or canopy lifting.
Thoughtful recommendations, careful execution
Tree work happens above homes, gardens, fences, vehicles and shared spaces. A successful job depends on understanding the tree and protecting everything around it.
JC manages jobs, customer relationships, labour, supplies and equipment maintenance. That owner involvement creates direct accountability from the first conversation through the final cleanup.
We assess the visible condition, access, targets below, equipment needs and intended result before recommending a plan. Our goal is to complete the agreed work efficiently while respecting your property and the long-term role of healthy trees.
Trees planted for every tree removed
Sometimes infestation, age, risk or location means removal is the responsible option. We believe necessary removal should still be paired with meaningful restoration.
For every tree Gallant Services removes, ten trees are planted in Ontario—supporting healthier future forests and honouring the natural environment at the centre of our work.

Questions about caring for your trees
Every tree and property is different. An assessment is the best way to receive advice based on what is actually present on site.
Pruning may address dead branches, structure, clearance or size when the tree remains suitable for its location. Removal may be considered when condition, risk, conflicts or project requirements make retention impractical. A tree assessment can help clarify the options.
The best timing depends on the species, reason for pruning, condition and season. Some work is well suited to dormancy, while urgent broken or hazardous branches may need attention regardless of season. Contact us for advice based on your tree.
Canopy lifting selectively removes or shortens lower branches to improve clearance above roofs, driveways, walkways, lawns or sightlines. It should be planned carefully to preserve an appropriate live crown and tree structure.
Gallant Services provides storm cleanup and emergency-removal assistance based on urgency, site safety, weather, travel conditions and crew availability. Keep people away from damaged trees and downed lines. Contact emergency services and the utility first when life safety or electrical hazards are present.
Supplemental support may help manage certain structural concerns, but it does not eliminate risk or suit every tree. The tree, defect, surrounding targets and long-term maintenance requirements should be assessed before recommending support.
Yes. We offer hedge trimming, hedge reduction and hedge removal. The appropriate service depends on the species, condition, current size and what you want to achieve with the space.
Include the property address, the number and approximate size of the trees or hedges, your main concern, access details and current photos. For storm damage, keep a safe distance and show the surrounding property in the photos when possible.
